(Ch.40 / Bad luck)

«Interpretation»

Emptiness - Tao - Bad luck. Do you wonder why you don't understand Zen (or Tao) at all after all these years of painful practice? Have you identified the principal cause of your spiritual stranding? Why does the oriental philosophy exclude you? As usual, the answer is simple: it is not Zen (or Tao) that refuses you, but you refuse Zen (or Tao). Please ask yourself whether you can accept the idea that things form your own self. That is to say, neither your mind nor body belong to you; your own self is part of the scenery around you. That's why Zen Master Dogen says: "Your own self is like mountains, rivers, and lands." Accept this first, and think about the rest of the teachings later. Now you are ready to tackle your highest attainment, which is as rich as the nothingness.

Please try Koan Horoscope (although it is in Spanish).
