Tao Te Ching Chapter 17-2 The second highest

Today's Tao

The second highest is the one that they are familiar with and praise. (Ch.17)

If you can love all the world without being obsessed with it, it could be even better than the former.

Having said that, the misunderstanding of the word "Love" is a classical theme of discussion.

Obviously, many people think that to love someone is to virtually colonise him, saying, "I give everything, so he has to be mine".

Love is not possession at all.

Because of this risk, loving your hologram could be the second best in Taoism.

On the other hand, gratitude doesn't have any risk.

It is one of the best forms of Love.

Say "Thank you".

Naoto Matsumoto adds:

Shinran Shonin 親鸞上人 , the founder of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism, not Zen, asked his believers to site prayers not to become a buddha but to thank Buddha.

It also has the chapter's entire English translation and Rapid Decoded.
